Personal Logo Project
GD4/ Spring 2022

Objective
Use your design skills to create a personal logo that reflects aspects of yourself (interests, hobbies, ideals, thoughts, physical traits, etc.). Take these ideas and make a logo that is abstract. Create sketches and use Adobe Illustrator to make your final design. Utilize colors as well to bring together your design. By the end, you will have a design that is unique and specific to you.

Final Logo Design Description
You know that feeling of spacing out and getting lost deep in thought? Perhaps you see images, hear music, or play out scenarios in your head? Throughout my entire life, this has plagued my concentration. But as I shifted my career-focus to graphic design, I realized that this was not as much of a burden as I thought. When I zone out, I see pictures, colors, and ideas. I am completely submerged in a space where my creative aspirations thrive, and my design skills become a reality. In recognition of this, I created a logo to reflect the idea of having my “head in the clouds”.

Sketches/Early Ideas
I was really drawn to the idea of a logo involving clouds, which ended up being in the final design. The first two sketches were more centered around this idea of "head in the clouds". Some of the other sketches were experimentations with simple fish designs, which I wanted to somehow incorporate with the same cloud theme.
Logo Ideas in Adobe Illustrator
During my design process, I was drawn to the deep black color next to white. In some of these designs I also included a backdrop, which was inspired by other logos I was fond of during my research.
Refined Designs
Chosen Logo
This design was by far my favorite out of the three. For me, this design encapsulated the idea of "head in the clouds" the most out of all of them.
Experimenting With Color
During this part of the project, I experimented with various color combinations for this logo.

Top Color Picks
Final Designs in Color and Black and White
For the color, I settled on the gradient. I chose this because it allowed me to incorporate more colors than the solid color design did.
